Augh.
Mute Math, "Peculiar People."
This dude knows music theory. For the theory geeks out there, I mean, who in mainstream music uses extensions in the melody? The sixth degree in minor mode!! Helloooo! This is like...jazz in rock. Except reggae. Modal reggae rock.
I'm happy.
impressed

BUT! Mutemath is super amazing and you should all go buy Reset. Like, right now. Find a copy of Earthsuit's Kaleidoscope Superior too while you're at it.
"Peculiar People" = awesome song. :)

I must agree that it's an awesome song. Even without looking at it theoretically, the simplicity of the song is compelling. The lyrics about shedding our human skin and flying...I think that's a really great way to say it!

And with the way Switchfoot has been going (south) since their first album, well...

I'm a fan of Jon Foreman's writing, for the most part. Melodically, harmonically, he keeps it interesting.
Would you really say that New Way To Be Human was worse than The Legend of Chin? I find that arguable...

Their new stuff sounds rockier again, which is nice...they tamper with pop, which is cool, but I like the straight-up rock...
